Free Agent BMX rider in a bandana

Case Study

From Underground
to Unignorable.

An irreverent reinvention of an overlooked BMX brand — combining provocative creative, elite athletes and authentic street culture to challenge convention and capture the attention of riders worldwide.

OBJECTIVE

Transform Free Agent’s identity, build credibility across racing, dirt jumping and freestyle, and establish the brand as a recognized force within the global BMX community.

The Challenge

A brand lost in the noise.

Despite substantial financial backing, Free Agent struggled to stand apart in a competitive BMX market. Traditional product advertising offered little distinction, while the brand lacked the cultural influence needed to earn riders’ attention and loyalty.

The Solution

Break the rules.
Own the culture.

We abandoned conventional BMX advertising in favor of an irreverent visual language — provocative, unexpected and impossible to ignore.

By combining shocking imagery with sophisticated art direction, we created campaigns designed to interrupt the reader and reward a second look.

Strategic athlete partnerships, original photography, redesigned products and an authentic presence within BMX culture brought the new identity to life.
